Due to increased industry wide issues, shortages of flowers, containers, and other floral products are currently a regular problem. Substitutions of flowers and/or containers are becoming more regular and should be expected. We are doing our best to navigate through all of this and your understanding is appreciated.
Listed below are the policies customers agree to when ordering with Petal Street Flower Company.
Our Guarantee
If you are not completely satisfied with the quality of our flowers or service, then please contact us immediately and we will promptly take the appropriate action.
Every order is important to us because we know how important it is to you. Hence, we earnestly endeavor to please every customer with beautiful flowers and accommodating service. Knowing that flowers are a perishable natural product and that floral arrangements and floral gifts are hand made, we make every effort to fortify our floral products and ensure the quality, accuracy and beauty of our work.
Substitutions for Flower Arrangements
The flower arrangements you see on this website were made and photographed here at Petal Street Flower Company, and we do try to recreate the pieces you see. Due to the nature, seasonality, and availability of flowers it is sometimes necessary to make substitutions of equal or greater value. We will make every effort to maintain the "look and feel" of the arrangement by considering the overall shape, size, style, and color combinations. In single-variety arrangements the variety will take precedence over color. For example, if an order is for yellow Roses, we will substitute another color of Roses, not another yellow flower.
Substitutions for Containers
The containers we arrange in, which you see in the photography on this website, may also be substituted due to lack of availability at that time. Upgrading your online order (for example, choosing deluxe instead of Standard or Premium) may also be a cause for substitution if our designers need to increase the size of the container to accommodate more flowers. Most times, the type of material will be maintained when we choose a substitute. For example, a glass vase will be substituted for a glass vase, a wood container for a wood container, etc. We would not replace a glass vase for wood or vice versa unless there was a very specific reason, in which case, we will try to contact the sender about the situation.
Substitutions for Funeral Flowers
As a highly recommended florist in our area for funeral flower arrangements, we understand the importance of the pieces our customers choose to order. Immediate viewing times and a sudden high volume of orders for each viewing does not always allow us to call our customers about substitutions, even significant ones. To ensure a timely delivery, it is important for each customer placing an online order with us to understand, we will make every effort to maintain the "look and feel" of the arrangement by considering the overall shape, size, style, and color combinations. By placing the order, they accept the designer’s substitution choices.
Substitutions for Plants
For green and blooming plants, similar plants may be substituted of equal or greater value. For one-of-a-kind plants, such as orchids, we will make every attempt to match the plant type, but may substitute with another color. Containers for plants will be as close as possible, see above for container substitutions.
Delivery Policy
Delivery Times: Normal delivery times are 9am-5pm Tuesday thru Friday and 9am-1pm on Saturdays. During holidays times, which many times include up to two weeks before the actual holiday, delivery times will be subject to change.
Specific Delivery Times: We are do not guarantee delivery at a specific time, we normally offer delivery with a two hour time window, during holidays or extra busy times, the time window increases to four hours, many times we will ask if you would like a morning (9 - 12) or afternoon (12 - 5) delivery. You may request a time frame in the special instruction box in our shopping cart when ordering, and we will do our best to accommodate your request. If the time for delivery is extra important, we recommend you call our shop and order with us by phone, 732-295-0600, we are always happy to speak with you.
Schools: Schools do not accept deliveries for students. Teacher's flowers and gifts are delivered to the main office or area designated by the school itself. Orders to schools should be placed early because they usually must be received by 2pm.
P.O. Boxes: We are unable to deliver flowers to a P.O. Box or an A.P.O. addresses.
If No One is Home: If the recipient is not available at the time of delivery, the delivery person may leave the gift nearest the front door or obvious entry way if weather and/or conditions are safe for the flowers. If weather and/or conditions are not safe for the flowers the delivery person will leave a door tag for the recipient to call to arrange for re-delivery.
Incorrect Addresses: If the recipient's address is incorrect and delivery was attempted to the address, we will try contacting the recipient and/or the sender for correction.
Recipient May be Contacted: We make every effort to deliver the flowers as a surprise, however, in some cases, the florist may contact the recipient to ensure s/he will be home to accept the delivery or if there is an issue locating the proper address.
Request to Leave Item at Door: Weather and conditions permitting, we will leave the flowers. Sending customer assumes all liability for requests to leave arrangements.
Recipient Refusal of Delivery: If the recipient refuses to accept a delivery, you may be held fully liable for the cost of the gift.
Card Messages: The message that you write in the Card Message field is the message that is sent with the gift. We do not include any billing information with your order.
Card Message Signature: We understand that in some instances the sender of a flower arrangement may choose to not leave a signature (who the flowers are from). Due to occasional issues that this causes, it is our policy to use the sender name as a default if a signature has not been included. We do not give any sender contact or billing information without the permission of the sender, just the senders name.
